OREANDA-NEWS. September 3, 2008. The President’s telegram said, in particular:

“Your exhibition is deservedly called ‘September’s collected works’ and represents the whole spectrum of modern literature. It has long since become the country’s main book fair and an influential forum for displaying the publishing industry’s latest achievements. Numerous visitors come to be among the first to see the latest titles, meet with recognized literary masters and talented new authors. It is also pleasing to see that this year, the Year of Literature and Reading in the CIS, a large part of the fair is devoted to works by authors from the CIS countries”.  

Representatives of 82 countries are taking part in the book fair. Germany, France, Saudi Arabia, Sweden, Israel, the United Kingdom, Iran, the United States, China, India, Vietnam and Serbia are among the countries with the biggest displays at the fair. For the first time Ukraine is the honoured guest at the fair this year.
