OREANDA-NEWS. September 04, 2008. “For Ukraine, a state which has set a goal to enter the European Union, compliance with European standards in the area of migration legislation is one of top priorities,” the address of Yulia Tymoshenko for the participants of the Eight Ministerial Conference on Migration, aired by Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Hryhoriy Nemyria, reads.

In this connection, Yulia Tymoshenko views, the Government of Ukraine pays great attention to forming and realization of the state policy in labour migration area as one of the main components of the state policy in the sphere of employment.

The Head of Government sees concluding bilateral interstate and intergovernmental agreements on employment as a significant mechanism of the state regulating of labour migrations. At this, Yulia Tymoshenko stressed Ukraine appears the party to 11 bilateral agreements in employment issues.

By now, aiming strengthening of coordination of efforts on the side of central executive authorities in migration domain, an interdepartmental commission on migration has been founded, though it is planned to create a single central executive authority which would assume responsibility in realizing the state migration policy.
