OREANDA-NEWS. February 9-10, 2009, within the frameworks of the international exposition "Prodexpo 2009" in Moscow, the "Days of Moldovan wine" will be held. This was announced at the press conference in the agro-industrial agency "Moldova-Vin" by the Deputy Director Nicolai Taran.

This activity, organized by the Commercial-Industrial Chamber of Moldova and "Moldova-Vin" agency, will be attended by 44 economic agents. According to Taran, during these two days a number of measures focused on increasing export of Moldovan wines to Russia, will be undertaken. Moldovan companies will be represented by a single stand with the total area of 216 square meters.

Within the frames of exhibition it is supposed to organize trade-economic forum, representing potential of the wine industry in Moldova.

It is also planned to hold round table and discuss such issues as recognition of Moldovan certificates in Russia and increase in number of customs points. According to Taran, the proposal to increase the number of the customs points was made during the Summit of the prime ministers of CIS, held in Chisinau on November 13-14.

In addition, the program of promotion of Moldovan wines, exchange of contacts, big art program will be organized.

Taran said that currently, alcohol products to Russia are delivered by 31 Moldovan companies. 13 more companies claim to obtain corresponding certificates. Thus, 44 Moldovan enterprises are allowed to export alcohol products to Russia.

For the first 10 months of the year, 80% of all Moldovan alcohol products were exported to CIS, including 35% to Russia, 32% - to Ukraine and 30% -to Belarus. Total export of alcohol beverages for 10 months of 2008 amounted to US170 million. Export to EU countries amounted to US18 million. On the whole, Moldovan alcohol products were exported to 55 countries of the world.
