OREANDA-NEWS. February 17, 2009. Dmitry Medvedev will visit Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk on February 18-19, where he will take part in opening Russia's first liquefied natural gas production plant (Sakhalin-2 project).

Representatives of the three foreign countries whose companies are involved in the Sakhalin-2 project will also come to Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk for the event. Japan will be represented by Prime Minister Taro Aso, Prince Andrew, Duke of York, will represent Britain, and The Netherlands will be represented by Minister of Economic Affairs Maria van der Hoeven. Mr Medvedev will hold separate bilateral meetings with the foreign countries’ representatives. 

While in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Mr Medvedev will also meet with Russian and foreign business community members and hold a meeting on making Russia’s participation in international energy cooperation more effective.
