OREANDA-NEWS. February 24, 2009. Lulin comet will fly 60mln km over the territory of north-western Russia at night to Feb. 25. Lulin is much brighter than was expected, so only a binocular is needed to see the comet, according to Sergey Smirnov, Press Secretary of the St. Petersburg Astronomical Observatory.

The comet resembles an airplane, it has got two wings and a tail. It might be because of different substancies, which generated the core and the tail of the comet.

Lulin has lost its tail recently. It was a sensation for the scientists, and it confirms that there are still some space weather processes which hasn`t been studied, states Mr. Smirnov.
