OREANDA-NEWS. October 8, 2009. The Fishing Industry of Turkmenistn-2009 International Exhibition and the Protection and Efficient Use of Marine Bioresources of the Caspian Sea International Conference have been opened at the Exhibition Centre in Ashgabat today. The organizers of the three-day forum are the State Committee for Fishing Industry and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan.

The major goal of the forum is to introduce international innovations in Turkmenistan’s fishing and fish processing industries. The ongoing economic reform pays close attention to development of this very promising sector. Today Turkmenistan’s fishing industry has entered the period of modernization and complete renovation. The complex measures are taken on the initiative of the Turkmen leader to strengthen the material and basis of the industry.

Intensive development of the fishing industry set the task to bring it up to a qualitatively new, higher level. Establishing wide-scale cooperation with foreign partners plays an important in this process. Important roles to play establish broad cooperation with foreign partners. The prospects for cooperation in the fishing industry attract businessmen from different countries across the world to our country. The study of the best international practices and adoption of advanced technologies will help to achieve the major goal – to saturate the domestic market with high-quality fish products.

The Protection and Efficient Use of Marine Bioresources of the Caspian Sea International Conference will be an opportunity to learn about the most promising projects in this field. The main topics under discussion at the scientific forum include the environmental aspect, in particular conservation and replenishment of the world’s largest stock of Caspian sturgeon and other species of commercial fish.
