OREANDA-NEWS. July 29, 2010. Mario Ronconi, Head of EC’s Central Asia Section of the EuropeAid Co-operation Office is on a visit to the Turkmen capital in these days.

A lively exchange of views on the major issues related to further constructive cooperation between Turkmenistan and the European Union in the framework of ongoing and future joint projects and technical assistance programmes took place during the meetings at the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Mejlis and the Turkmen National Institute for Democracy and Human Rights under the President of Turkmenistan. In this regard a particular role was assigned to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov’s strategy aimed at intensifying collaboration with the leading international organisations including the European Union.

Emphasizing that the profound potential existed for enhancing the fruitful dialogue, the EuropeAid representative expressed the willingness to consistently expand contacts in compliance with the EU Strategy for Central Asia giving particular attention to relationships with Turkmenistan.

The guest is expected to be received at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
