OREANDA-NEWS. The Cabinet claims that during the meeting of all the working group's member-countries, the support was voiced for Ukraine's swiftest completion of the entry talks and the group agreed on the dates of their next meeting in late November, Millennium Capital reports. The Ukrainian delegation has succeeded in reaching an agreement on the text of almost all of the binding provisions of the draft report. Three provisions that require additional examination at the expert level with respect to technical, sanitation, and veterinary regulations, and the application of export duty will be soon agreed during consultations with the interested countries who are members of the working group. To finish the procedure of elaborating the full text of its commitments, Ukraine still has to finish talks with Kyrgyzstan on commodities market access.

"We maintain our forecast that Ukraine will most likely enter the WTO in 1H2008, possibly in 1Q2008. The main beneficiaries would be export-oriented industries, the majority of which are metallurgy related companies. Some agricultural companies are likely to be among the losers. The entrance to WTO will also increase competition in Ukraine's banking sector," Millennium Capital's experts conclude.
