OREANDA-NEWS. In addition to the announcement as of November 8 that India would purchase 80 Russian Mi-17 helicopters equipped with Motor Sich engines (worth $140  mln), Saudi Arabia also signed a letter of intent with Russia for 150 helicopters of the Mi-8, Mi-17, and Mi-35 series.

These orders open up new markets for Russian helicopters, Alfa-Capital's analysts are sure, for which 90% of the engines are produced by Motor Sich.

Moreover, Indian contractors announced their intention to buy 200 more helicopters after 2008, which will further expand Motor Sich’s potential order book by 430-645 new engines.

The experts view this news as positive for the company, as equipping these helicopters will provide $170-250 mln in additional sales for Motor Sich.
