OREANDA-NEWS. November 22, 2007. RTS Classic Market celebrates 2 years of anonymous trading, RTS' press service reports. The development of the Anonymous trading on RTS Classic began in 2003. This technology allows to execute transactions with the use of Order-Driven Market without 100% asset depositing. Each participant can execute operations within limit defined by the RTS Clearing center. On November 15, 2005 the most liquid securities of the RTS Classic Market were transferred into electronic ("anonymous") trading mode.

Anonymous trading offers unique opportunities to its participants, such as:

- Direct Market Access for Russian and foreign clients;
- Algorithmic Trading to automatize portfolio management strategies or arbitrage with other instruments;
- During two years of Anonymous trading, securities of most capitalized issuers have started being used as a collateral, RTS Guarantee; - Fund has increased significantly, and execution of transactions with the use of central counteragent has been implemented.

Moreover, together with DCC, DVP technology was modernized with settlement in US dollars which allowed to connect residents of the RF to the system of DVP and anonymous trading mode.

Nearest plans of RTS about development of Anonymous trading include:

- switch to the use of netting at calculation of liabilities;
- possibility of contracting with settlement through central counteragent;
- possibility of contracting with settlement through central counteragent on most liquid; securities of the Mode of Non-Anonymous trading;
- construction of centralized securities crediting system.

According to the RTS Vice-president Alexey Sukhorukov quoted as saying: "Two years ago RTS started reformation of the Classic Market in order to build a modern trading platform. To significant extent this objective has already been achieved . RTS members have started to offer direct access to the market to their clients, automatic trading systems are used. This platform must unify liquidity for Russian and foreign investors henceforth."

Today Anonymous trading section entered 52 participants: investment companies and banks.
