OREANDA-NEWS. Vnesheconombank delivered the second aircraft – Boeing 747-400 formerly owned by Transaero Airlines – to Rossiya Airlines (Aeroflot Group) through VEB’s subsidiary, VEB-Leasing.

One of the largest in Rossiya’s fleet, the airliner will make long-haul flights to most in-demand destinations including Russia’s Far East and Trans-Baikal, as well as to popular national resorts. Following a new tradition of the company, the aircraft has been named after Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. The tiger pattern has been chosen to raise the public awareness of the need to save the population of Amur tigers also known as Siberian, Manchurian, or Mandarin tigers. Today, the population of Amur tigers in Russia’s Far East is estimated at just 540 species.
