According to the publication, over the corresponding month, another 29 enterprises with the participation of foreign capital began to operate on the island. Most of them are located in the most dynamically developing cities of the region - Haikou and Sanya, as well as in the port area of ​​the special economic development of Yangpu in northwest Hainan.

Among the foreign companies that showed interest are commercial organizations involved in water treatment, mining and pharmaceutical production. Some of them plan to implement projects in the field of advanced technologies and innovations.

According to official statistics, foreign investment in the provincial economy in 2019 exceeded $ 1.5 billion - 107.8% more than in 2018. In the near future, Hainan plans to actively attract investment in such areas as financial services, the production and rental of environmentally friendly vehicles, the production of medicines and medical equipment. All these projects are aimed at turning the island into a zone of advanced development of East and Southeast Asia.
