OREANDA-NEWSlphabet Holding for the first time disclosed data on its income from advertising on YouTube’s video service, according to an American television channel. Previously, they didn't stand out in a separate line in the company’s reports - only general information about advertising revenue on Google and “other” areas of Google’s business was published, which included YouTube.

“To give a more complete picture of our business and its prospects, we now disclose sources of income in more detail, highlighting segments such as search, YouTube and Cloud”, explained Alphabet CFO Ruth Porat.

According to the results report published by Alphabet in 2019, revenue from advertising on YouTube amounted to $ 15.149 billion, which is 35.8% higher than in 2018 ($ 11.155 billion) and almost doubled in 2017 ($ 8.15 billion). At the same time, YouTube’s non-ad revenue was included in Google’s other revenue, up about 21% from $ 14 billion to $ 17 billion.

The revenue of the Google Cloud cloud division grew over the year from $ 5.838 billion (in 2018) to $ 8.918 billion (up 52.76%). Alphabet's total revenue for the year increased by 18.3% (from $ 136.819 billion to $ 161.857 billion), and net profit - by 11.7% (from $ 30.736 billion to $ 34.343 billion).
