The Association of European Businesses Assessed the State of the Russian Market
OREANDA-NEWS. European business believes that the "pandemic" crisis has not changed the macroeconomic potential of the Russian market, Tadzio Schilling, head of the Association of European Businesses (AEB) in Russia, said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
“The pandemic of the new coronavirus, as well as the general geopolitical climate of Russia and the West, could not help but affect the situation. But, as the polls of our association members show, firstly, most companies do not plan cuts, and secondly, they do not postpone investment projects. That is, European business is of the opinion that the "pandemic" crisis has not changed the macroeconomic potential of the Russian market, "he said.
Schilling also noted that European business sees the prospects for the development of the Russian market due to highly qualified specialists in many sectors.
"We annually conduct a survey to assess the level of investor confidence, last year the figure fell to almost the lowest level in history, but this year it made a record jump," the source added.
This, he said, suggests that investors see that the recovery of the Russian market after the crisis is going faster than originally expected. "The Russian government took generally correct measures to support and adapt business, although it always wants more and more broadly," he explained.
