«Lokomotiv» Forward Francois Kamano Can't Return to Moscow Because of the Coup in Guinea
OREANDA-NEWS. Football player of the Moscow club «Lokomotiv» Francois Kamano is stuck in Guinea and can't fly to Russia because of the coup that took place in the country.
Kamano flew to his native Guinea to play in the qualification matches of the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Now he is in his home and cannot leave the country due to the fact that all entries and exits from Guinea are closed by the decision of the head of the rebels, Mamadi Dumbuya.
The football club's administration is closely monitoring the development of the situation and keeps in touch with the forward, «making every effort» so that Kamano could fly back to Russia. Before joining «Lokomotiv», the footballer played for the French club «Bordeaux», from where he left about a year ago.
Earlier, the rebels, dissatisfied with the policy of the President of Guinea, Alpha Conde, staged a putsch, which was headed by the head of the special forces service Dumbuya. The rebels ousted the head of state, dissolved the government, and also abolished the constitution.
