ROC Increases Budget for Preparations for Tokyo Olympics

OREANDA-NEWS. The amount of additional funds allocated to prepare for the Games in Tokyo amounted to about 270 million rubles. This was announced in an interview with Russian media by the President of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) Stanislav Pozdnyakov.
He explained that part of these funds is allocated due to reductions in subsidiaries of the ROC. “And these reductions are not due to the fact that we do not need the services of these subsidiaries. In current conditions, they are not involved in active daily work. But we will additionally need specialists in other priority areas.
The Tokyo Olympics, scheduled for the summer of 2020, were tentatively postponed a year in advance due to the coronavirus pandemic. Organizers in Japan have already allowed their cancellation.
