OREANDA-NEWS. The Russian crew "Kamaz-master" led by Dmitry Sotnikov won the truck classification of the Dakar rally-marathon. The competitions were held in Saudi Arabia.

The total length of the last special stage, which ended on Friday in Jeddah, was 200 km. The best on it was the Czech Martin Matsik, who covered the distance in 2 hours 32 minutes 27 seconds. The second was Sotnikov (+0.04), the third - Anton Shibalov (+1.00). The Kamaz-master crew led by Ayrat Mardeev finished fifth (+ 4.46), Andrey Karginov - sixth (+8.00).

The entire podium in the overall standings was taken by the Kamaz-master riders. The total time of Sotnikov was 48 hours 21 minutes 21 seconds. The second place was taken by Shibalov (+41.38), on the third line is Mardeev (+1: 16.35). The winner of last year's rally-marathon Karginov became the seventh (+2: 51.01).

Dmitry Sotnikov is 35 years old, he has been playing for Kamaz-Master since 2008. It became the winner of the Dakar for the first time, and its crew also included Ruslan Akhmadeev and Ilgiz Akhmetzyanov. In 2017 and 2019 Sotnikov as a pilot became the second in the overall standings, in 2013 and 2017 he won the Silk Way Rally.

Representatives of "Kamaz-master" won the marathon for the fifth time in a row, this victory became the 18th for the team, which is their best result.
