OREANDA-NEWS The International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) did not include Russian striker Ivan Barbashev in the congratulatory collage addressed to the Vegas Golden Knights club, which won the Stanley Cup.

On Tuesday, Vegas defeated the Florida Panthers in the final series (4-1) and became the NHL champion for the first time. After the victory of the Golden Knights, the IIHF published a collage on its social networks with several Vegas players in the uniforms of their national teams, noting the profiles of the USA, Canada and Sweden hockey federations.

Barbashev played in the first tier with Jack Torch and Jonathan Marchessault during the playoffs. The Russian forward scored 18 points (7 goals + 11 assists) in 22 matches in this Stanley Cup draw. Barbashev became the 15th hockey player from Russia who managed to win the Stanley Cup more than once as a player. In the 2018/19 season, he won the trophy with the St. Louis Blues. Barbashev moved to Vegas from St. Louis as a result of an exchange at the end of February.
