OREANDA-NEWS The Russian forward of the Columbus Blue Jackets Dmitry Voronkov fought with the Swedish forward of the Florida Panthers Kevin Stenlund in a regular season match of the National Hockey League (NHL). 

The conflict happened at the start of the third period. The players took off their gloves and started a brawl, which ended with the victory of the Russian. Voronkov struck Stenlund several blows, knocked the opponent to the ice, after which the referees stopped the fight. Both hockey players received two minutes of a fine for rudeness, and the Swede received another small fine for unsportsmanlike behavior.

The game took place on the night of Tuesday, November 7, and ended with a victory for Florida in overtime (5-4). Voronkov was not noted for effective actions.

Earlier, Voronkov had a fight with the tafgai of the Montreal Canadiens team, Arber Jackay. For the Russian, this match was the first in the NHL.
