OREANDA-NEWS. The 2018 Olympic team champions - Norwegian ski jumpers Daniel-André Tande and Johann Andre Forfang - risk missing the national team charter to Beijing and the first competition at the Games because they tested positive for coronavirus, reports Dagbladet.

The athletes reported symptoms of cold last week after the World Cup in Zakopane, Poland (January 14-16), and all of them have since tested positive for the coronavirus. If they do not test negative by the evening of 26 January, they will be unable to board the national team's charter flight to China on 31 January, which requires four consecutive negative tests.

It is noted that Tanda and Forfang will have to take regular flights via Zurich, the athletes might not make it to the normal ski jump competition (5-6 February).

"I haven't had a negative test yet. It's a bit unnerving. I will take two new tests again on Wednesday,"- said Tande.

Five sets of ski jumping awards will be contested in Beijing.

Earlier it was reported that all the skiers of the Norwegian team who were included in the Olympic squad will leave for the Games on January 31 instead of January 27 because they came into contact with the coronavirus-infected coach Arild Monsen.
