Wenger Refused to Lead FC Barcelona

According to the portal Le10sport, the management of the Spanish football club Barcelona offered the famous French coach Arsene Wenger to lead the team, but the 70-year-old specialist refused. Wenger intends to focus on the work in the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA), in which since November last year he has headed the global development department.

Wenger began working as a head coach in 1984 at French Nancy. In 1987 he moved to Monaco, which he led to victory in the national championship and Coupe de France. From 1996 to 2018 he headed English Arsenal. Under his leadership, the London club played 1218 matches, scoring 703 victories. Wenger has led Arsenal to victory in the English championship three times, to winning the FA Cup seven times.
