OREANDA-NEWS  The government will allocate 4.2 billion rubles of budget investments for the modernization of Russian Post offices in villages and remote areas. According to the government's website, such an order was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin on December 22.

The government discussed financing the modernization of post offices on December 22, it was about a contribution to the authorized capital of the company in 2024. It is assumed that for this money, more than 770 branches will be brought into standard condition within a year.

In total, the Russian Post has 38 thousand branches.

In September 2021, President Vladimir Putin instructed the government to provide budgetary funds for the recapitalization of JSC Russian Post for the modernization of rural offices until 2025. In addition, the government, together with the Russian Post, was instructed to expand the list of services provided at post offices.

The Russian Post carried out an additional issue for 200 billion rubles in favor of the state. As payment for the shares of the additional issue, the state contributes funds to the authorized capital of the Russian Post for the modernization of branches throughout the country, as well as 100% minus 1 share of JSC Marka and a number of other assets.

In previous years, the company allocated 5 billion rubles a year for the repair of post offices.
