OREANDA-NEWS  An increase in the incidence of influenza and acute respiratory infections has been recorded in Russia. He warned about the increase in the number of people with respiratory infections in an interview with KP.EN Former Chief Sanitary Officer of Russia, Deputy President of the Russian Academy of Education Gennady Onishchenko.

"Indeed, the disease curve is creeping up. If we take the latest official statistics provided by the health authorities, then by the fourth week (January — approx. "Tapes.<url>") we have registered 978 thousand cases of diseases," the epidemiologist said.

According to Onishchenko, in St. Petersburg, Moscow and the region, the number of cases in the entire group of infectious diseases is 14.4 percent of the total in the country. While the incidence of influenza and acute respiratory infections is growing, Russians should avoid mass events, measure the temperature, dress according to the weather, he noted.

Earlier it was reported that the incidence of tuberculosis has increased in several Russian regions. This happened in Siberia, part of the Volga region, the Urals and the Far East, in the central part of the country.
