OREANDA-NEWS. György Bakondi, Chief Security Advisor to the Prime Minister, has said that uncontrolled masses of people arriving in Europe will trigger an unmanageable situation.

In response to a critical statement by Italian prime minister Matteo Renzi, Mr. Bakondi said that Mr. Renzi should first ask those who are affected by the migration wave in Southern Italy about the issue. He added that he believes that Mr. Renzi’s statement was based on ideology, conforming to the pro-migrant policy of the Left.

On Sunday centre-left Italian daily La Repubblica reported that in Rome the previous day Mr. Renzi had told the newspaper’s staff-reader forum that he does not care about criticism from Eastern European countries. The newspaper quoted the Italian prime minister as saying that “Those Eastern states that have been saved from the crisis by Europe are the same ones erecting walls and giving moral lessons on migration while ignoring whether or not children are drowning at sea”.

On Sunday evening Mr. Bakondi told Hungarian television channel M1 that Hungary has solidarity with all countries acting against illegal migration. He added that the standpoint of the Government of Hungary – expressed both verbally and in writing a number of times – remains clear: migration must be stopped and routes must be controlled.

According to Mr. Bakondi the migration wave will continue on both main routes, but there is still a question over what will happen on the Balkan route, depending on the outcome of the EU-Turkish deal.
