OREANDA-NEWS China imposes more sanctions against Russia than the European Union and the United States. The potential partner has applied almost 30 different restrictive measures over the past year, "Gazeta.ru" reports with reference to the Eurasian Commission.

Beijing is perceived as an ally and partner of Moscow, but in reality the republic has imposed more economic restrictions against the Russian Federation than the European Union. Monitoring shows that China has adopted 26 restrictions, while the EU has only nine. Alexander Panin, Chairman of the Fish Union of Russia, commented on the situation.

"China takes covid very seriously and strictly. Both with respect to internal rules and with respect to external ones. But, in addition to real anti-covid restrictions, official Beijing, of course, uses an anti-covid theme to achieve its economic goals," the expert noted.

Russian President Vladimir Putin previously wrote an article for China's Xinhua news agency. The Head of State speculated about the joint creation with China of a mechanism for leveling sanctions.

Previously, Director of the Center for Integrated European and International Studies at the Higher School of Economics (HSE) Vasily Kashin in conversation with "Lenta.ru" called the advantages of the PRC from the confrontation between Russia and the West. Russia's actions related to tough diplomacy and promoting its conditions in the conflict situation in eastern Ukraine will have a positive effect for China.
