OREANDA-NEWS  Russian President Vladimir Putin has awarded the title of Hero of Russia to Anna Kikina, the only female astronaut in the Roscosmos team. The relevant decree was published on Wednesday on the official internet portal of legal information.

"For courage and heroism demonstrated during a long-duration spaceflight on the International Space Station," the decree states, "to award Anna Yuryevna Kikina with the title of Hero of the Russian Federation."

In addition to this award, Kikina has also been granted the honorary rank of pilot-astronaut of the Russian Federation through presidential decree.

Kikina, who is the 129th Russian cosmonaut, joined the team in 2014 and completed her first flight in 2022 as a crew member on the Crew Dragon spacecraft. The 157-day mission marked her first time in space aboard an American spacecraft, under a cross-flight agreement with NASA.
