OREANDA-NEWS  A criminal case has been initiated against a resident of Kerch for calling for violence against participants in a special military operation, the press service of the Crimean directorate of the FSB of the Russian Federation reports.

"A criminal case has been initiated against a resident of Kerch on the grounds of a crime provided for in part 2 of Article 280 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (public calls to carry out extremist activities committed using information and communication networks)... Currently, a preventive measure has been chosen for him in the form of a subscription not to leave," the message says.

Investigators found that a 50-year-old man posted calls in one of the messengers for "violent actions against citizens of the Russian Federation taking part in a special military operation."

During the search of the defendant's house, "communications equipment, computer equipment and other items" were seized. The operation was carried out jointly with the Center for Countering Extremism of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Crimea. A man can be imprisoned for up to five years.
