OREANDA-NEWS Business in Russia should understand that the situation with a shortage of personnel in the country will not change for the better in the coming years. It is necessary to solve this problem radically, Russian President Vladimir Putin pointed out in an interview with TV journalist Dmitry Kiselyov for the Rossiya 1 channel and RIA Novosti.

As the President noted, there are not so many migrant workers in the country compared to other states — they make up 3.7 percent of the total number of workers.

"When migrant workers are attracted, they always talk about the need to do this due to a shortage of workers," Putin stressed.

According to him, entrepreneurs should realize that the situation for them in terms of the availability of workers will not change for the better in the coming years.

In order to solve this problem radically, it is necessary to increase labor productivity and reduce the number of workers in those areas where this can be done, achieving greater results by introducing modern technology.

Putin noted that for this it is necessary to invest in this area and carefully train personnel, this is the most important point that it makes sense to think about.

Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova said that over the past six years, the size of real wages in Russia has increased by more than 30 percent.

By the end of 2023, real wages in the country increased by an average of 7.8 percent compared to 2022, she said. Golikova called such changes "serious shifts."

A few days earlier it was reported that the Russian government began working on an increase in the personal income tax (personal income tax) and new benefits.
