OREANDA-NEWS Belarus and Russia may launch a joint shipbuilding project, according to Belarusian Industry Minister Alexander Rogozhnikov.

"Cooperation with Russia is not just about aircraft. It also includes a wide range of topics such as machine tool manufacturing, microelectronics and airport infrastructure. We are currently considering the possibility of creating a joint shipbuilding program," the minister said in an interview with STV TV on Sunday.

According to Rogozhnikov, bilateral cooperation covers a wide range of projects that complement each other within the framework of the Union State.Today, 25 projects have been agreed upon and seven more are currently under consideration. Five of these have already been approved by the Russian side. With today's meeting, we have narrowed down the number of options to a very small group, but considering these seven projects, we will certainly be able to complete them all. Additionally, agreements have been made with the Ministry of Industry and Trade regarding the allocation of additional funding for high-tech collaborative projects," said the head of the Belarusian Ministry of Industry.
