OREANDA-NEWS  Russia and Morocco are discussing different options for mutual settlements, including in national currencies and through barter, Deputy head of the Russian-Moroccan Business Council Raja Shafiq El Ali told RIA Novosti.

"This issue was discussed at our meeting with Moroccan partners, three options were identified. The first is settlements in the currencies of third countries, today we work through the United Arab Emirates and pay in dirhams, but there is such a thing as payment security, and more than one scheme is needed. The second option involves barter," El Ali said.
Cooperation on barter, he noted, could be interesting not only for Morocco, but also for the whole of Africa, since there are goods on the continent, but there is no money.

"The third option is settlements in national currencies," he added.

The Kingdom of Morocco is a state in North Africa, bordered by the Mediterranean Sea in the north and the Atlantic Ocean in the west, bordered by Algeria and Mauritania. The country is one of Russia's leading trade and economic partners in Africa and the Arab world.
