OREANDA-NEWS. No nationalization of Crimean plots of land owned by foreigners will be carried out. This was declared by Alexander Molokhov, a head of the working group on international legal issues at the Permanent Mission of Crimea to the President of Russia.

“There will be no nationalization of lands, they will be forcibly reacquired on conditions of preliminary equivalent compensation,” the official told RIA Novosti news agency.

Earlier, President of Russia signed a decree on expanding the list of border areas in which foreign citizens, stateless persons and foreign legal entities cannot own land on the basis of ownership. In particular, 11 districts and 8 cities of the Republic of Crimea, as well as municipalities of Sevastopol, were added to the list. According to the Chairman of the Committee on State Registration and Cadastre of the republic, Alexander Spiridonov, at present foreigners own over 11 thousand land plots already registered in accordance with Russian law, excluding data on Simferopol, Dzhankoy, Krasnoperekopsk and three other territories.
