OREANDA-NEWS Russian tourists who cannot leave European countries that have closed the airspace for Russian aircraft are going to be returned home by transit through third countries. This was reported by RIA Novosti after a conversation with Dmitry Gorin, Vice President of the Russian Union of Travel Industry (PCT). Among the countries through which you can return to Russia are Turkey, Egypt and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

"Due to the closure of the air service, tour operators are now resolving with Rostourism the issue of transporting 400 independent and organized tourists from Budapest, Hungary, 500 organized tourists from Bulgaria and about 200 from Portuguese Madeira. Now Russian tourists are also in the UK, Slovenia and Austria. Transit flights through third countries are being considered, including the cities of Istanbul, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Doha and Cairo, as well as other open countries," Gorin listed the options.

According to the expert, the Russians flooded the travel companies with questions. Ticket sales have dropped significantly. But the PCT Vice President recalled that Turkey, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Maldives and Thailand remain open to Russians.

Earlier, the Secret reported that the European Union imposed new sanctions against Russia because of the military operation in Ukraine. The macroregion has closed the skies for Russian planes. In addition, some banks from the Russian Federation will disconnect from the SWIFT international payment system. The European Union also decided to freeze the available assets of the Russian Central Bank.
