OREANDA-NEWS Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic on Tuesday expressed hope that Belgrade would not impose any sanctions against the Russian Federation.

"We are the only country in Europe that has not imposed any sanctions against the Russian Federation. I hope, until now of course, I hope that we will not impose these sanctions," he told reporters on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.

Answering a question from journalists whether he agrees with the statement of US President Joe Biden that Russia is an obstacle to peace in Ukraine, Vucic noted that "this is a very difficult and difficult issue for Serbia."

Earlier on Tuesday, US President Joe Biden, during his speech at the 78th UN General Assembly, said that Russia is on the path to peace, "because Russia's price for peace is the surrender of Ukraine."

Russian President Vladimir Putin has previously stated that the Russian Federation has never refused to negotiate with Ukraine, but the "other side" should say this directly, but such proposals have not been heard from it.
