OREANDA-NEWS. The Federal Security Service of Russia (FSB) detained a serviceman of the Black Sea Fleet in Sevastopol on suspicion of high treason. According to the agency, he transferred information constituting a state secret to the intelligence service of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

“The Federal Security Service in Sevastopol detained a serviceman of the Black Sea Fleet who was collecting and transferring to the Chief Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine information constituting a state secret. The FSB has opened a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Article 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (High treason),” the FSB Public Relations Center informed.

The military’s lawyer told journalists of the news agency TASS that the materials of the case against his client are classified. “I cannot say more without permission,” he stated.

The Sevastopol Garrison Military Court has chosen a preventive measure against the serviceman in the form of detention.
