OREANDA-NEWS The candidate for the post of president of Russia, the current head of state Vladimir Putin, according to the results of counting 99.7 percent of the protocols, leads with 87.31 percent of the votes. Such data is published by the Central Election Commission (CEC) on its website.

According to the latest data, Nikolay Kharitonov from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation is in second place with 4.30 percent of the vote, followed by Vladislav Davankov from the "New People" with 3.83 percent of the vote. Leonid Slutsky is in fourth place with 3.21 percent of the vote.

In Moscow, as the CEC previously reported, after processing all ballots, Putin won 85.13 percent of the vote. Vladislav Davankov took the second place in the capital, Nikolai Kharitonov took the third, and Leonid Slutsky took the fourth.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, commenting on the preliminary election results, said that 87 percent of Vladimir Putin's votes were an unprecedented result. The press secretary of the head of state also called all accusations of "illegitimate elections" unfounded and pointed to the highest level of support for the current president.
