OREANDA-NEWS  The Russian goalkeeper of the Carolina Hurricanes, Pyotr Kochetkov, was recognized as the first star of the day in the National Hockey League (NHL).

In the match against the Florida Panthers, Kochetkov blocked all 44 shots on his own goal. This is the goalkeeper's third dry match this season. Carolina won 1-0.

Another Russian, St. Louis Blues forward Pavel Buchnevich, was named the second star of the day. In the match against the New York Islanders, the forward scored a hat-trick, bringing his team a 4-0 victory. The third star of the day was St. Louis goalkeeper Jordan Binnington. He recorded 38 saves.

This NHL season, Kochetkov has played in 29 matches, deflecting more than 90 percent of shots at his own goal. Buchnevich scored 46 points (22 goals and 24 assists) in 54 games.
