OREANDA-NEWS The representative of the President of Russia in the far Eastern Federal district Yuri Trutnev said that China's investment in projects in the Far East is 7% of the total investment in the region.

Now the Far East is gaining speed in development through investment. However, it is necessary to implement major infrastructure projects to achieve serious development of the region.

"We cooperate in almost most areas. This are infrastructure, agriculture, and processing of natural resources," said Trutnev after the opening of the exhibition "street of the Far East". The exhibition will work within the framework of the Eastern economic forum.

The most promising projects for China can be considered a project for the construction of a pulp and paper mill in Khabarovsk. The authorities are interested in the development of wood processing in the country, said Trutnev.

According to the Ministry of development of the East, Chinese partners are implementing more than 40 investment projects in the region. Eight of them they launched this year.

The Eastern Economic Forum will start in Vladivostok on September 11. The President of China XI Jinping, Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe, Prime Minister of South Korea, Lee NAK-Yeon and President of Mongolia Khaltmagiin Battulga will visit the Forum.

It is also expected that the forum will be attended by the head of Alibaba Jack MA, as well as representatives of the largest Japanese and South Korean companies, including Mitsui, Mazda, Daewoo and Lotte.

Earlier, the Chinese authorities offered Russia to build a high-speed highway (HSH) between Vladivostok and the Chinese border city of Suifenhe. The cost of the project is estimated at $7 billion, the length of the highway is 180 km. This was told by Deputy Prime Minister, envoy of the President of Russia in the far Eastern Federal district Yuri Trutnev. He noted that the evaluation of the project confirmed its profitability.
