OREANDA-NEWS. The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends not using ibuprofen and the medicines containing it for self-medication for the new coronavirus, but taking paracetamol.

This was announced by WHO spokesman Christian Lindmeier at a briefing on March 17. According to him, there is no new evidence how ibuprofen influences the risks connected with COVID19, experts continue to study the data. “We recommend paracetamol, not ibuprofen for self-medicating,” Lindmeier resumed.

At the same time, if ibuprofen was prescribed by a physician, it should be taken.

On March 11, WHO announced a pandemic of COVID-19. More than 160 thousand people in more than 150 countries are infected. The majority of patients have recovered, more than 7 thousand died.
