OREANDA-NEWS American company Nvidia has stopped renewing and selling licenses for its cloud gaming software to Russian companies, Kommersant reports.

Nvidia Grid system for splitting cores on the server video card allows cloud gamers to use one video card at a time on several virtual computers, thereby increasing the number of possible users.

According to Vitaly Starodubov, the founder of Loudplay, the termination of licenses for companies that use Nvidia Grid for the most part will mean higher prices for the services provided. That is, if the company previously could serve eight players at once from one server with two Nvidia Grid cards, now only two.

Meanwhile, some experts have expressed confidence that the refusal to renew Nvidia licenses may also lead to problems in the work of supercomputers in a number of Russian companies. It is reported that Nvidia will not block the already existing licenses.
