OREANDA-NEWSRussian-Austrian relations, despite domestic political events in Austria, aren't influenced by fake news. This was announced on Thursday by Russian Ambassador to Austria Dmitry Lyubinsky on the occasion of a country conference of Russian compatriots at the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Vienna.

"I can't say a few words about the government crisis in Austria. I would like to especially note that the Russian-Austrian relations, despite the political upheavals of recent weeks in Austria, have a high degree of stability, aren't seriously affected by fake news and continue to develop consistently and very constructively, - noted Lyubinsky. - Austrian diplomacy does not work in a highly likely style “with a high degree of probability”, peculiar, unfortunately, to many European capitals.

The ambassador added that such a development of events creates a favorable atmosphere for the work of diplomacy and Russian compatriots. As an example, he cited the opening on May 17 of the first Orthodox music school in Austria - the music school. SV Rakhmaninov at the Cathedral of St. Nicholas in Vienna.

Austria, due to the collapse of the coalition government of the Austrian People’s Party and the Austrian Freedom Party, is preparing for early elections to the National Council in September 2019. The reason was the scandal surrounding the publication in the German media of a video featuring Heinz-Christian Strache. In frames taken with a hidden camera, he and his assistant Johann Gudenus discuss with an unknown Russian-speaking woman posing as a niece of a Russian businessman, the possibility of buying the popular Kronen Zeitung edition and informational support for the election campaign before the parliamentary elections in 2017 in exchange for access to construction government contracts in Austria.
