OREANDA-NEWS  The Asian Forum of Cultural Cooperation is being held in China these days. The Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Olga Lyubimova also visited Hong Kong, where she met with Kevin Yeung, Director of the Bureau of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the Hong Kong Government. The parties discussed what could be of interest to each other.

Olga Lyubimova separately noted the opportunities for joint filmmaking, including in the field of animation. Russian cinematographers have been participating in the FILMART International Film Market, the largest in the Asian region, for almost ten years. Our "Smeshariki" are well known to Chinese children, and older viewers are familiar with the films "Attraction" by Fyodor Bondarchuk, "Ice" by Oleg Trofim and "Ice-2" by Zhora Kryzhovnikov, "Salyut-7" by Klim Shipenko.

- As for Russian cinema, I note that there is a market for it in Hong Kong. We look forward to further cooperation in this area. In addition, if there is such an opportunity, Hong Kong films will also be shown in Russia," Kevin Yeung said.
