OREANDA-NEWS The Russian tourist flow to Sri Lanka in the first half of 2023 increased almost three times compared to the same period last year, more than 110 thousand Russians visited the island state in January-June, the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR) said.

"Russia is the second most important inbound tourist market in Sri Lanka (18 percent of the total foreign tourist flow). Our country is second only to India (over 116 thousand), twice ahead of Germany and the UK," ATOR said.

They noted that it is possible to fly from Russia to Sri Lanka on direct flights from Moscow to Colombo, which are operated by Aeroflot. According to the association, at the end of July, a round-trip ticket will cost 75 thousand rubles per person.

"You can fly cheaper. The charter program in cooperation with tour operators on the east coast of the island is implemented by the airline Red Wings. A package tour with departure from Moscow at the end of July on block transportation to a three–star hotel for 7 nights will cost from 145 thousand rubles for two," ATOR added.
