OREANDA-NEWS Russian theaters located in nine foreign countries plan to stage 30 performances in 2024 with the support of the Ministry of Culture of Russia, the head of the Ministry Olga Lyubimova told President Vladimir Putin.

"On your instructions, we have started supporting Russian theaters abroad. Russian Russian theaters in 43 countries of the world play Russian classics in Russian. We choose productions together. We have the anniversary year of Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin ahead of us, this year is the 200th anniversary of Alexander Nikolaevich Ostrovsky, so we choose the material together. They choose what is closer, more interesting to put. This year, 15 performances have already appeared in eight countries, in nine countries we are planning 30 performances in 2024 and further incrementally," the minister said.

The Ministry of Culture supports, among other things, Russian theaters in Abkhazia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and South Ossetia.
