OREANDA-NEWS   Mir underground mine was operating in full compliance with industrial safety requirements

The probable cause of the accident on August 4, 2017, at the Mir underground mine was an uncontrolled inrush of water caused by a sharp deterioration in mining and geological conditions. The underground mine was operating in full compliance with all technical and safety requirements. The project passed the Main State Expert Review Board and repeated expert appraisals of industrial safety. Main mining operations were in line with the design concept.
