OREANDA-NEWS. Chelyabinsk Metallurgical Plant (ChMK PAO, MOEX: CHMK) mastered production of SIN beams. The beams are produced at a new automated production line launched in one of the plant’s rolling workshops. With the SIN beam technology in hand, the plant’s product range now includes all kinds of beam profiles existing on the market.

Technical characteristics

SIN beams are an exclusive type of welded H- and I-beams, with extra durability and yield strength due to corrugated webs. Chelyabinsk Metallurgical Plant mastered production of SIN beams from its own rolled flats at a new line by Austria’s Zeman, which was installed in one of the plant’s rolling workshops. The line is fully automated and can produce up to 400 tonnes a month.

SIN beams are widely used in construction for large-span industrial and agricultural structures, trade, sports and office centers. This beam type saves its users from 10 to 30% product expenditure as compared to standard steel structures. SIN beam use also makes building frames 30% lighter, which makes for a lighter foundation. Due to ideal geometrical accuracy and comfortable bolted connections these structures may be easily assembled. SIN beams also have high seismic resistance and a singular appearance that can make them an ingenuous design element.
