OREANDA-NEWS. "Group GAZ" at the international exhibition of commercial vehicles Comtrans/17 for the first time introduced a perspective model of the GAZelle Next electric bus. A minibus with a low entry level and the possibility of transportation of wheelchair users was produced on the GAZelle Next 4.6 chassis in accordance with the requirements of the "Accessible Urban Environment" program.

According to the press service of the GAZ Group, the GAZelle Next electric bus is based on a unified electric platform designed for the whole range of light commercial vehicles of the GAZ brand. On its basis, it is possible to manufacture on-board trucks, vans and minibuses.

The electric car is equipped with an asynchronous three-phase electric motor with a maximum power of 98 kW with a gearbox of its own design, which allows the bus to be dispersed to 90 km / h. Power reserve - not less than 120 km. Charging is possible both from industrial (380 V) and from household (220 V) networks. The minimum charging time is less than three hours. Reducer and traction batteries are placed in the frame of the car, which allows the full usage of the whole cabin space for the transport of passengers.

A skeleton minibus with of increased passenger capacity can carry from 16 to 22 passengers. Pneumatic rear suspension provides good smoothness of the vehicle, a rear axle with increased load capacity and a reinforced frame - high reliability of the design. In the future, buses of this design will be produced also with diesel engines.
