OREANDA-NEWS  Engine Plant Ford Sollers has produced a 30-thousandth power unit since the launch of production in 2015. The company produces a gasoline 4-cylinder engine of the Duratec series in volume of 1.6 liters in various variants of forcing, reports the press service of Ford Sollers. Engines of local production are installed on several models produced by Ford Sollers in Russia. In particular, Yelabuga engines with a capacity of 85-125 hp. are equipped with compact hatchbacks and sedans Ford Fiesta, compact crossover EcoSport, as well as sedans, hatchbacks and station wagons of C-class Ford Focus.

The Duratec engine is produced in six Ford plants, located all over the world. The engine is equipped with a system of independent control of the timing phases of camshafts Ti-VCT, providing optimal dynamic performance and high fuel efficiency.

The engine plant in Yelabuga occupies 42,600 square meters, which is equivalent to six football fields. The company is located in close proximity to one of the three Ford Sollers automobile plants in Russia. The new plant is equipped with advanced, high-tech equipment, which allowed the automation of production processes by 95%. Production processes at the plant include machining the crankshaft, cylinder head and cylinder block, assembly line, and a quality control line. The total investment in an enterprise that meets Ford's global standards for productivity, environmental friendliness and safety was $ 275 million.
