OREANDA-NEWS. By the results of the first half of 2017, Renault Russia achieved a record market share of 8.5%, which is higher by 0.7 ppt. than a year before. The company demonstrates the steady growth throughout 2017: by the results of the first six months, there were sold 60,834 cars, which is more by 17% than in the same period of 2016.

As the press service of Renault Russia reports, in the first half of 2017 Renault confirmed its leadership in the most demanded and fast-growing SUV segment. It became possible due to the implementation of the new brand development strategy "My country. My discoveries. My Renault". So, Renault kept the first place in the SUV-segment with the result of 44,750 cars, by having improved the indicator of the last year by 32%.

The company managed to form a wide range of models in the SUV segment, presented today in the Russian market by the front-wheel drive crossover STEPWAY, reliable Duster SUV, stylish Kaptur crossover and the new flagship of the brand - the all-wheel drive crossover of the D segment Renault Koleos.

An important role in strengthening of the position of Renault in the Russian market belongs to the new crossover Renault Kaptur. It is the first model in the history of Renault, in the creation of which at all stages - from the concept of the car to the installation on the conveyor - took part Russian specialists. The body is made of Russian steel, interior and chassis parts, including the engine, also made in Russia. For the first time in history, the production of the global Renault model began in April of 2016 at the Russian plant in Moscow, which became the "parent plant" for the model.
