OREANDA-NEWS. Volvo Cars remains on track for another record year in global sales after releasing its November retail sales numbers. Year-to-date sales growth globally amounted to 7.4 per cent, resulting in total sales for the first 11 months of the year of 473,528 cars (2015: 441,002).

Sales of the new Volvo XC90 were the main growth driver globally, while the XC60 continues to be the best-selling model overall.

In China, Volvo’s sales increase now amounts to 12.5 per cent year-to-date, based on another month of double-digit growth in November. The best-selling models were the locally-produced Volvo XC60 and S60L models.

The United States also continues to report double-digit growth for the year thanks to strong demand across the range. Overall growth for the first 11 months is now 19.6 per cent, with 72,597 cars delivered to customers so far this year. The new Volvo XC90 is the best-seller in the US, followed by the XC60.

Sales in Western Europe are up 5.1 per cent year-to-date with continued strong demand in several key markets, including Germany and the United Kingdom. The Volvo XC60 was the best-selling model in the region.

Globally, the Volvo XC60 was the best-selling model in the first 11 months of 2016 with 142,105 cars sold (2015: 142,351), followed by the Volvo V40/V40 Cross Country with 89,757 sold cars (93,560).
