OREANDA-NEWS General Director of ALROSA Sergey Ivanov said that the company is ready to take part in diamond mining projects in Zimbabwe.

"I am sure we will be able to discuss the prospects of participation of our companies in the field of exploration and development of fields with a high state of exploration of reserves", — he said.

ALROSA's subsidiary will be engaged in exploration, prospecting and mining with the prospect of establishing joint diamond and other mining enterprises. Ivanov noted that the company does not want to focus on specific projects in this country and plans to continue studying the region. According to ALROSA, Africa accounts for 47 per cent of the world's diamond reserves.
